Early life
Heather Graham was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, to a family of Irish descent.Her family relocated repeatedly until settling down in Agoura Hills, California when she was nine years old. The eldest of two children, her younger sister, Aimee Graham, is also an actress and writer. Their mother, Joan, is a teacher and noted author of children's books, and father, James Graham, a retired FBI agent.The girls were raised with family values that followed a strict traditional Catholic upbringing.Graham graduated from Agoura High School in California in 1988. In 1986, she appeared on a special "Teen Week" episode of the NBC-TV game show Scrabble.
She was introduced to acting during the school production of Wizard of Oz. Then while still in school she appeared in numerous television commercials, the sitcom Growing Pains and several television movies. She debuted in the 1988 film License to Drive, which was a teen comedy starring Corey Haim and Corey Feldman. Her strict parents forbade her to appear in the 1989 black comedy Heathers, which had an expletive-rich script.
After high school, Graham enrolled in extension classes of the University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA) and studied English for two years.There she met actor James Woods. They became romantically involved during the time she was cast in the movie Diggstown, where he had landed the starring role. After two years there, Graham withdrew from school at UCLA to pursue acting full time, over her parents' objections. Meester was born while her mother was serving a federal prison sentence in Fort Worth, Texas.Although her mother, Constance, was serving time in prison for her involvement in a drug ring that smuggled marijuana from Jamaica to the United States, she was able to give birth to Meester in a hospital and nurse her for three months in a halfway house before returning to prison to complete her sentence.
Meester maintained that her parents gave her a normal upbringing and, despite their criminal past, are good people with experience that has only made Meester more open-minded and non-judgmental, "It made me realize that you can't judge anyone—especially your parents—for what they've done in their past, because people change." Meester jokes, "Look, I could've turned out a lot worse."
Meester grew up in Marco Island, Florida, where she participated in productions at a local playhouse.When she was 11 years old, Meester and her mother moved to New York.Meester attended the Professional Children's School and also began working as a model with Wilhemina, booking a Ralph Lauren campaign shot by Bruce Weber and working with then photographer (now film maker) Sofia Coppola. Meester also appeared in Tarzan, which ran for only eight episodes. Meester started to land guest roles in other series such as Crossing Jordan, 7th Heaven, Veronica Mars, 24, and Entourage.
In 2005, Meester began a regular role in the series Surface as Savannah Bennet. Meester appeared in two more 2006 movies, Flourish and Inside. She also guest appeared in Numb3rs and in two episodes of House M.D. as Ali, an underage girl who has a crush on House.
After guest roles on CSI: Miami, Shark, and playing the female lead in the horror film Drive-Thru, Meester was cast in CW's Gossip Girl as Blair Waldorf. The show is based on the book series about the lives of New York's privileged Upper East Side young adults. Her performance has been met with critical acclaim.

Personal life
Jessica Stroup was born in Anderson, South Carolina. She spent her childhood in Charlotte, North Carolina. A friend's mother was a former Miss North Carolina and encouraged Jessica to pursue modeling. She has an older brother, David Stroup. She graduated from Providence High School in 2004. At age 17 Stroup was offered a scholarship to attend the University of Georgia, but turned it down in order to pursue an acting career. She then moved to Los Angeles, California, where she currently resides.
Career
Stroup began modeling when she was 15 and acting when she was 18. Her first acting job was as a guest star on Nickelodeon's popular teen series Unfabulous. Next, Stroup landed a small role in the CBS TV movie Vampire Bats. She played a major role in the TV movie Southern Comfort. Stroup was originally going to play Zoe in I'll Always Know What You Did Last Summer but had to drop out due to scheduling conflicts. According to IMDb, Stroup had auditioned for a role in the in the 2008 horror film April Fool's Day. In 2008 she joined the series 90210 as Erin Silver, the younger sister of David Silver and Kelly Taylor, a rebel who produces and stars in a YouTube-type video series.
She co-starred in the 2007 sequel film The Hills Have Eyes 2. In 2008 she played the role of Claire in the remake of Prom Night. She has also appeared in the movie Broken, where her character shares a kiss with Heather Graham. She later reunited with her Prom Night co-star, Idris Elba in the movie This Christmas.
Over the years Jessica has appeared in numerous commercials, including spots for Honda, Velveeta and Target. Her most recognizable commercial appearance was as "the Dentyne Girl" in an advertisement for Dentyne Ice.
